Expanding your business is more than just “investing money in hiring new talent”. It’s about understanding why people choose to work with us. Here are the 𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝟭𝟬 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 we look for when bringing in new team members….

 𝟭. 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘁𝘀: To get in our door you must be Good, Curious, and Smart (“street smarts” over “book smarts”).

𝟮. 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: Define what they want from their work experience, whether it’s being the next CEO or wanting to be great at their current job forever.

𝟯. 𝗘𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Ensure EVERYONE in the organization understands the position and welcomes new hires.

𝟰. 𝗘𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗷𝗼𝗯 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: Job descriptions don’t have to be perfect. We figure out 75% of a job description and adjust it as we go based on each individual’s strengths, as well as our evolving needs.

𝟱. 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: When hiring multiple people for the same position, treat it like a franchise. Make job descriptions easy to replicate and execute.

𝟲. 𝗘𝗺𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀: Push people to their limits, providing a safe space to learn from mistakes and unlock their potential.

𝟳. 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀: Regular meetings allow for personal and professional growth through coaching.

𝟴. 𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝗮 “𝗷𝗼𝗯” 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝘆: Set realistic expectations on the day to day grind. Not every day will be perfect, but together we’ll strive to make it awesome, and learn how to accept tough days.

𝟵. 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻-𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴: Embrace diverse perspectives and let individuals make their own choices.

𝟭𝟬. 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿: It’s sad when employees leave, but they become ambassadors of your company forever, so handle farewells with care.

Remember, your business is defined by the people you bring in and nurture. They are your legacy when scaling and growing.
